So transfers happened again. And they were definitely not what I expected. I'm staying another transfer in Belen! This will be my 4th transfer here. I was a little bummed to hear that at first, since I've already been here a while, but then I found out who my comp is. Elder BUHLER! Yes, like Ferris Buhler. Elder Buhler is one of the gringos from my group and we've been good friends for a while now. He's a really funny guy. We're having a ton of fun already. Elder Carlson also got his new comp after Elder Winger died and a guy named Elder Sauceda-Leon came into the house. He's a Mexican from Arizona. So right now in our house we are living with 6 missionaries from the United States. Which is basically unheard of in this mission. It's kind of hilarious. But don't worry, we're still getting work done.
Elder Buhler and I have had a few cool appointments this week, and I feel like we're working a lot more effectively than I did last transfer with my other comp. And yesterday was one of the funnest proselyting days I've had in a while. This week, there was a group of Americans in church. It was weird. A whole bunch of young men and women came down for a humanitarian EFY and they went to church with us. Poor guys didn't understand anything that was going on. But then their leaders decided it would be cool to have them divide up into groups that afternoon and go visit people with us! So Buhler and I left with one of their instructors that spoke Spanish, and then 2 young women and young one man to go visit a recent convert. They were pretty cool, they just had no idea what we were talking about. But we actually had a really spiritual lesson with Patty, the convert. I think they felt the spirit at least.
Later that day we had a really cool lesson with a couple named Roberto and Patricia. We found them a couple weeks ago, and in this return appointment they were even cooler. We started off the lesson listening to them complain about the catholic church a lot and how it just wants to make money off of baptisms and stuff. Then they told us how they want to know more about the book of mormon, we read it with them, and they accepted a baptismal invitation! They're an awesome family, they have 3 kids that are really interested too.
I just realized I suck at telling proselyting stories. I'm sorry, I swear the mission is actually really cool. I'm way better at telling about weird things that happen in Bolivia. But sadly, I don't have any of those either. I hope you're all happy. At least I have good photos this week!
